Since retiring from the University of Georgia, I have been
busy with many activities and interests. My various computer projects, family
history research, home and yard maintenance, and improving my guitar skills
have kept me well occupied thus far. Debbie and I also have three young
grandchildren, two girls and a boy, and always enjoy spending time with them
and their parents.
I left the
University of Georgia Libraries about
two years ago. My job there as Network Services Specialist was always
interesting and often challenging. I managed and supported IT systems for
the Libraries including servers, desktops, LANs and SANs. My responsibilities
included the administration, operation and monitoring of over a dozen physical
servers.
In the Summer and early Fall of 2006 Debbie
and I backpacked the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail ... from
Springer Mountain to Bly Gap in North Carolina and on to Wayah Gap. In
Summer 2007 we continued our adventure and walked from Wayah Gap to
Lake Fontana on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Debbie took most of the pictures in these slide shows.
